I was honored to lead a bible study one Sunday
evening in Chubb Cay in the Bahamas on the Kingdom. There is a tiny chapel there
which has a small group of strong believers and I was the one blessed!!
Also, I went on the VHF each morning while
cruising and one day while at the dock in Nassau a large freighter pulled up
across from our boat and one man hollered across the water...Are you Kay
Chapin? You can't imagine the surprised look on my husbands and guests
faces. He was a fellow Christian Boater Association member and had heard me
on the radio and was shouting across the water Praise God!! What a witness!!
Last Wednesday I was asked to do the reading
at the Memorial Service of a dear long time neighbor and friend here in RI.
The Church where it was held was in Seekonk, Mass. It was such an anointed
time and I believe a crystal clear message to all the unsaved attendees that
she had gone from glory to glory and that we were there to celebrate her life
here on earth and in heaven--not to mourn! It was also a great time of inner
healing for me. The Pastor was so loving and non judgmental and it really
touched me spiritually. And praise the Lord I didn't cry or stumble over the
scriptures!! At home when practicing reading them I couldn't complete it
without crying--I love her and her family so much... But God was faithful and
sent His Holy Spirit to shield me and it went off smoothly!
To God be all the glory!!
I urge you (if you have taken the time to
read this web page) to please keep your eyes on Jesus and not the world.
During these troubling times of turmoil we know that Jesus is more than a
conqueror! Trust in Him with all your heart and He shall direct your paths
and make your ways straight!

Easter Sunrise Beach Service here on Useppa was
an great success!
Cool breezes not withstanding!
Words are inadequate when I attempt to
explain the love generated as the island residents gather together at dawn,
with their visiting families and friends, to celebrate the resurrection of
Jesus! Differing backgrounds and beliefs
does not deter us from joining together in communion and scripture readings.
At the sign of the peace we all have a difficult time settling back down to
sing. The good will and hugs seem to go on and on.. Lead by key board and
violin accompaniment it is a most festive time! To God be all the glory and
praise!
As a foot note ... during these turbulent
times I am constantly reminded that God is still on His throne and hears our
prayers. Please join with me in seeking His will over our families lives,
our country, and our world.
May God show each of us how to remain
teachable to His spiritual truths! May we learn to discern and understand
the things of God and not weary nor faint from well doing. Let us join
together to pray to fulfill God's call on our lives. May we remain free from
the forces of evil that daily seek to distract and detour us from our goals.
The road of deception is subtle but the Holy Spirit is ever ready to be our
teacher and guide throughout our lives. He is our protector and He has a
mandate to bring us into the Kingdom of Heaven. Listen to your inner man and
learn to yield to God's gentle call. It is a privilege to share the gospel
message with you all.
Update on hurricane
Charley December 27, 2004
We have
been living in a hotel since Nov and we are back and forth to review our
construction on Useppa and the boat. I am in a state of constant activity
with no real opportunity to preach as I would like. This too shall pass. I
did do the Christmas evening prayer blessing and am believing the 20 people
there will not forget the Word spoken. Since His Word does not return void I
am claiming their souls for the kingdom.
Regarding hurricane
Charley that hit the west coast of FL on August 13, 2004
The miracle of restoration has been revealed to
those who have eyes to see. The Lord delivers the righteous from all
afflictions....our home on the beach on Useppa Island is still boarded up
but I am praising God that it is structurally sound and will be re-built
better than ever!
We serve a good and gracious and merciful God!!
The following are from her
trip back home to RI in the Spring of 2004
May 2004
Each morning at 8:00 am I am on the VHF Radio as we cruise up the
ICW.
I read a scripture for the day and pray for our nation and Troops overseas
and families. The response has been positive and enthusiastic from the
boaters that tune in.
This last winter I prayed on the Beach every Sunday for one hour on our
Island and had the opportunity to pray with many different people. There is
no organized Church here so we refer to my time on the beach as "Beach
Church". The Holy Spirit moves differently each time. I am so grateful for
the opportunity to witness for Jesus. I have prayed the salvation prayer and
laid hands on the sick and given out my book to many.
We are now cruising to the Chesapeake. Expect to arrive in RI early June.
Jesus is Lord!! k
October 2003
My step daughter took a copy of Promises and gave it to her boyfriend's
mother in Roanoke, Va. Shortly afterward her boyfriend had a heart attack
(the exact type that the movie star John Ritter died from.)
I was lead of the Lord to drive 7 hours in one day each way and pray at his
bedside and anoint him with holy oil. At that time he had been unconscious
for 3 weeks, was on a stomach feeding tube which had an infection, had a
tracheotomy in his throat, kidney failure, pneumonia like infection in his
lungs, plus his heart problem. His chances of survival were very slim. I
brought another copy of Promises along and my step-daughter Nancy was very
happy to receive it and read it aloud to him. His dialysis nurse also saw it
and asked to have a copy. So I sent one to her as well. Miracles of
miracles....Not only does Manny have a perfect heart but he is back at home
and at this very moment is at the Annapolis Boat show looking to buy a
boat!! PTL!!
October 2003
Maylina, a lady in Galesville Maryland told me that she gave her sister, a
single mom with 5 children, my Promises book and she took it to work. And
one day all of her 5 children came down with a flu bug but she had to go
into work anyway because her boss was out of town. Distressed at leaving her
sick children in the care of her elderly father she was really beside
herself with all the upsetting phone calls she was receiving from home so
she took my book and laid it by the phone and just kept staring at the cover
and repeating all of Gods Promises and a great flood of peace came over her.
Maylina then said that her sister told her later she never could have done
her job so well nor gotten thru the harrowing day without the comfort that
my book Promises gave. Maylina told me this while I was visiting with her at
her church in Galesville, Maryland in order to encourage me to keep sharing
Promises wherever I go.
Sept 2003
Carol, a friend in Honolulu, Hawaii read Promises as she faced another
exploratory surgery operation and the Dr. found no new Cancer!!
Sept 2003
We were co-hosting a large fund raiser with a non-profit organization called
Ready About at the Herreshoff Marine Museum in Bristol, RI this past Sept
6th. We had a tent on the water and all the invitations were out when a
Category 4 Hurricane warning came up. It was headed straight for New
England. I told the director at the museum not to take down the tent and the
directors of Ready About not to worry I would pray and God would stop the
storm!! I quoted God's promises and told the hurricane to turn toward
Bermuda and believed with all my heart that my prayer was heard and it was!!
It was the loveliest fall evening anyone could have imagined! To God be all
the Glory!!
August 2003
My daughter Ginger took Promises to England this past summer while she was
studying Shakespeare at Oxford. Her luggage had to be light so she chose to
take Promises rather than her bible. She phoned many times to thank me for
such a concise way to find the promises. When she had a lot to memorize or a
deadline she meditated on a specific promise and God blessed her with peace
and a real hunger for more of His Word!
April 2003
Dee, a friend in Palm Beach, Florida took Promises to the hospital and read
the healing chapters over her step-father and he went home quicker than
expected and healed! |
